Bathroom Mirror Frames
Many of us would like to give our master bath a face lift. Over time the fixtures, counter tops, cabinets, and even floor and wall coverings take on a dated look reminding us that there are so many beautiful new styles and décor opportunities. As one of the most frequently used rooms in a home, it may be time to consider certain upgrades or even a full-blown remodel. In fact, studies show that updating your master bath can add significant value to your home, but more importantly create a space that you are proud to come home to.
Whether or not you choose to take on a major remodel, there are a number of inexpensive updates that can make your master bath more enjoyable. One such upgrade is the addition of a custom mirror frame to your bathroom mirror. Most of us have a plain sheet glass mirror hanging on our master bath wall. But as the focal point of the bathroom, it deserves special treatment. Adding an easy to install custom mirror frame can give you a look found in the finest homes and design magazines. In just a few minutes you can install your own mirror frame without the expense and mess of carpenters and painters.
The internet has made it easy to select, order, and install your new frame. With an excellent selection of styles and colors to choose from, easy step-by-step ordering instructions and online instructional videos you can’t go wrong. In fact, you get everything you need to install your custom cut mirror frame in about 20 minutes using no special tools or skills. Using a special tape the frame is attached directly to the face of the glass. Some frames are even designed to cover mirror clips and hide ugly mirror edges and hanging strips.
This inexpensive update can make a world of difference in your master bathroom. With frame styles available to suit any décor, you can give your mirror the classic look of a custom framed mirror.
Framing A Mirror
If you have those large bathroom mirrors straight out of the 1980s, you might consider adding a frame to your mirror. There are many options that you can find at your local arts and crafts store. Sometimes they can be quite expensive depending on what type of framing you are looking at. However, it will be immediately noticeable when you step into a bathroom with a framed mirror and it can even be done by your average do it yourselfer.
If you have any interest in framing your mirror you should head to your local art store. They will be able to help you pick a color and style. They can even give you advice on how to frame your mirror and some of the materials you are going to need. However, you probably do not want to buy at one of these stores because of the expensive prices. You might be better off buying materials at a discount store or online.
If you want to go very discount you can even buy door or window molding for your mirror. In fact, there are some crown moldings out there that you may find look even better than what the craft stores are offering. Keep in mind that most places you find are going to try to get you to spend way more than you need to.
Keep in mind that if you buy a discount frame then you may need to either paint it or stain it. Make sure to use a smaller paint brush when you are painting the frame. In addition, you must paint the frame before you put it on the mirror. This is absolutely essential to successfully framing your mirror. Once the frame is on, you are not going to be able to get it off, so there is little room for error.
Framing a picture frame is a very popular new trend. It can take an outdated bathroom and make the mirror look brand new. Especially for mirrors that are slightly chipped at the edges this can be a great way to cover the flaws. It is definitely worth the effort for the average house that was built with a stock mirror.
How do I hang a large frame less mirror on an uneven wall?
The frame less mirrors are 36" x 60" and my wall has this stucco ring of fake rock (for an underground looking affect – from previous owner) around the whole room.
I’m afraid drilling screws threw the tradition cilps that came with it will cause the mirror to break over the hump of stucco that lies in the middle of the desired hanging height.
Does this mean you can only hang frame less mirrors on a perfectly flat surface? Do I have to pull a Tim Allen and power chisel off the stucco where I want to hang them?
These were 60 bucks at H. Depot and framed mirrors this size are hundreds if not more.
How high should a mirror be hung above a sofa table? My husband hung it?
13 inches above the table. The frame on the mirror is 2 1/2 inches thick, so it’s like 15 3/4 from the table to the actual mirror.
How much does it cost to repair rear-view mirror on my 2003 Chevy Impala?
I backed out of the garage and caught the rear-view mirror assembly, tearing up the rear-view mirror, breaking the plastic frame around the mirror, and warping the metal mount. Anyone know how much the parts will be and how much time on labor will be required? Mirror is electronically adjusted. Total cost estimate?
What is the name of the wood-like frame/border that you can stick on mirrors?
I have a 8×4′ mirror and it is flaking off the sides. I need a stick-on type frame or border that will cover the flaked-off area on the edges. I think they come in strips that can be cut.
Where can I find a mirror to put above my dresser?
I’m trying to find a mirror that i can put above my dresser because there are no mirrors in my room. I want it to match the rest of the furniture in my room. My desk and dresser and shelf are all made of light wood. What color frame of the mirror should i get to match this?
Does the frame of the picture match the mirror close enough to use in the same room?

Any ideas on how to make an oddly shaped mirror frame?
I just had a large mirror break and I love the shape of one of the large chunks. I know how to build a rectangular frame, but this one is a billowing kite shape and I was looking for ideas. Please don’t just tell me to cut it to a square piece and then tell me how to make a frame, that’s not what I’m looking for!
I dont have any saws so if I buy any wood it’ll have to be pre-cut to what I need. I was also wondering what other materials could be used. I want to be able to attach it to a wall, otherwise I’d leave it the way it is. Creative solutions welcome!
Thank you in advance!
